You can even become a dolphin trainer for a day, with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our world-class dolphin care. Musical Instrument Museum – Ranked by TripAdvisor as the top attraction in Phoenix and one of the top 20 museums in the United States MIM provides a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors of all ages with more than 6,800 instruments on display from around the world. www.mim.org
Hiking – If you been eating and drinking too much, and we are going to make sure you do, then there are numerous great hiking trails in the area. Heard Museum – The Heard Museum sets the standard for collaborating with American Indian artists and tribal communities to provide visitors with a distinctive perspective about the art of Native people, especially those from the Southwest. www.heard.org
Taliesen – Taliesin West is a National Historic Landmark nestled in the desert foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, AZ. It is also the home of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and the School of Architecture at Taliesin.
Shopping – just a five-minute walk from the hotel is Fashion Square with over 200 shops including Nieman Marcus and Nordstrom. Ten minutes’ drive away are Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter.
Casinos – There are several casinos within a 10 -20 minute drive.
Things to do further afield
Sedona - Sedona's main attraction is its array of spectacular red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails. www.visitsedona.com
Off-Road Adventures – take a guided off-road drive through stunning scenery in a Hummer or Jeep. This company is owned by one of our own members who is offering reduced rates so just mention that you are an FCA member.
Jerome – about two hours away. The drive up a great switchback road to an elevation of over 5,000 feet is fun. The historical mining town is now a wonderful artists community. You can do ghost tours and even stay in a ghost hotel. www.azjerome.com/jerome

Las Vegas – about a 4 hour drive from Scottsdale through spectacular scenery.
